State-Of-The-Art Technology and Nutraceuticals
Dr. Ensign is in constant pursuit of the latest research on new treatments, including laser therapy for wound healing, ear infections and back problems; and new drugs for infections, liver disease, antifungal, gastrointestinal, seizures and behavior problems.
Dr. Ensign states, “Lasers are an important part of my practice … they have such wide uses and deliver excellent results. In a single day, I might use laser therapy to treat joint and back pain, hot spots, dental decay, and help heal skin or bone injuries. Digital technology has made diagnosis and treatment so much more precise than traditional methods could provide. We also invested in the Video Otoscope, which enables better ear evaluation using a camera to view the inner ear on screen. It has the ability to aerate ears quickly and with less invasiveness so we get a more thorough result. This technology is relatively new to animal clinics in the valley and we are excited to offer it.”
Nutraceuticals are also an important part of Dr. Ensign’s practice, helping to boost the immune system, combat dermatological issues and support joint health.
Dr. Ensign also states, “Some of these medicines were adapted from research on humans, while others were developed specifically for animals. There have been so many advancements in just the last 10 years in things like cancer, liver disease, joint health and behavior challenges. We can save so many more lives and ease so much discomfort with these new treatments.”
